Got to Be There is het eerste soloalbum van Michael Jackson, uitgebracht door Motown op 24 januari 1972, vier weken na Greatest Hits van de Jackson 5. Berry Gordy was uitvoerend producent. De arrangeurs waren onder anderen The Corporation, Gene Page en James Anthony Carmichael.

Het album bevat covers van Ain't No Sunshine, You've Got a Friend en Love Is Here and Now You're Gone. Het tempo loopt van 74 beats per minuut in Ain't No Sunshine tot 170 in Rockin' Robin. De titelsong en Rockin' Robin werden twee grote hits. AllMusic vond het album als geheel wisselvallig, maar prees de covers van You've Got a Friend en Ain't No Sunshine als bewijs van zijn veelzijdigheid als zanger.
