Dit album bevat de muziek bij Barefoot Adventure, de surffilm die Bruce Brown in 1961 maakte. Alle nummers schreef saxofonist Bud Shank zelf. Hij speelde ze met een kleine jazzcombo en bracht ze uit op het label Pacific Jazz.
In de bezetting zitten Carmell Jones op trompet, Bob Cooper op tenorsaxofoon, Dennis Budimir op gitaar, Gary Peacock op bas en Shelly Manne op drums. De leider speelt zelf altsaxofoon en baritonsaxofoon. De titels, zoals Jungle Cruise, How High the Makaha en Ala Moana, verwijzen naar strand en zee. AllMusic gaf het album drie sterren.
