Klaus Badelt

Klaus Badelt werd in 1967 geboren in Frankfurt. In Duitsland schreef hij eerst muziek voor films en reclame. In 1998 vroeg Hans Zimmer hem om te komen werken bij Media Ventures in Santa Monica. Daar werkte hij mee aan scores als The Thin Red Line (1998) en Gladiator (2000). In 2002 schreef hij onder eigen naam The Time Machine, K-19: The Widowmaker en Equilibrium. Voor The Time Machine kreeg hij in 2003 de World Soundtrack Award voor ontdekking van het jaar. Bekend werd vooral Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003). In de Filmmuziek Top 400 van NPO Klassiek staat die muziek op naam van Zimmer en Badelt samen. Later schreef hij onder meer de Chinese film The Promise (2005) en Poseidon (2006).
