Clint Mansell

Clint Mansell werd in 1963 in Coventry geboren. Tien jaar lang was hij zanger, gitarist en songwriter van de Britse band Pop Will Eat Itself. Daarna begon hij een lange samenwerking met regisseur Darren Aronofsky, van Pi (1998) en Requiem for a Dream (2000) tot The Fountain (2006), Black Swan (2010) en Noah (2014). Mansell heeft geen klassieke opleiding. Hij bouwt zijn muziek op zoals een rockband, met drums, bas, gitaar en een melodielijn, en werkt samen met orkestrators. Voor Requiem for a Dream en The Fountain speelde het Kronos Quartet zijn muziek. Het stuk Lux Aeterna werd daarna in veel filmtrailers gebruikt. Hij schreef ook de muziek voor Moon (2009) van Duncan Jones.
