Ready an’ Willing

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

Ready an’ Willing · Whitesnake's third album was released on 23 May 1980. It was the first with drummer Ian Paice, who had previously played in Deep Purple together with singer David Coverdale and keyboard player Jon Lord. Three former Deep Purple members were thus in one band.

The album contains two British hits: Fool for Your Loving and the title song Ready an' Willing (Sweet Satisfaction). Blindman had already appeared on Coverdale's first solo album White Snake and was re-recorded here. It reached number 6 on the British chart and was the group's first album to chart outside the United Kingdom as well.

Listening

Listening tip. Listen to Blindman and bear in mind that Coverdale had put this song on his solo album before. Notice what the band version does differently.
