On 29 November 2019 Blinding Lights by The Weeknd was released. The credits list five writers, including Max Martin and Oscar Holter. The song sounds like a record from 1985: a synthesizer riff as an intro and a drum machine with the sound of the eighties, the Stock Aitken Waterman formula in a new guise. In 2021 Billboard declared it the most successful song in the history of the Hot 100.
