Twisting and Shouting

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

Twisting and Shouting was released in 1963 on United Artists and was the third album by the Isley Brothers, here billed as the Famous Isley Brothers. A year earlier Twist & Shout had come out. None of the songs reached the singles charts. Alan Lorber and Garry Sherman conducted.

After that it stayed quiet for three years. The next album, This Old Heart of Mine from 1966, was released on Berry Gordy's Motown. Ronald Isley sang the lead parts, his brothers O'Kelly Jr. and Rudolph sang along in the background. In 1991 the record came out on CD with extra tracks, under the title The Complete United Artists Sessions.
