Shout!

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

Shout! is the Isley Brothers' debut album, released in 1959 on RCA Victor. Hugo Peretti and Luigi Creatore produced it. After the success of the title song the group was sent hurriedly into the studio to record a large part of the record. That included Respectable, a second song that was later covered by rock bands, although it did not itself reach any chart.

Ronald Isley sings the lead parts, while O'Kelly Jr. and Rudolph Isley do the backing vocals. When the album had long been out of print, it was reissued in 1990 on Collectables. In 2015 it was included in an expanded, remastered version in a CD box set of RCA Victor and T-Neck recordings.
