Away We a Go-Go

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

Away We a Go-Go from 1966 is an album by Smokey Robinson & The Miracles. It contains two singles: (Come 'Round Here) I'm the One You Need, written and produced by Holland-Dozier-Holland and a hit in the Billboard top 20, and Whole Lot of Shakin' in My Heart (Since I Met You) by Frank Wilson. The album contains a different take of I'm the One You Need than the single.

A large part consists of covers of recent hits: You Don't Have to Say You Love Me by Dusty Springfield, two songs by Dionne Warwick, Walk On By and I Just Don't Know What to Do with Myself, and Beauty Is Only Skin Deep by The Temptations, which the group had already recorded in 1964. Baby Baby is an original song by the Lewis Sisters. Claudette Robinson does not appear on the front of the sleeve but does on the back.
