Body & Soul

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

Body & Soul is Rick Astley's fourth studio album and was released in 1993. Astley produced it together with Gary Stevenson, who also did the recording. Tom Lord-Alge mixed the album. Dave West on keyboards, Mark Brzezicki on drums and Nigel Hitchcock on saxophone, among others, played on it, and a choir of backing singers sang along.

The record was not a commercial success. It became his first album to miss the British album chart, although it did reach number 28 in Italy. Two singles were released: Hopelessly reached number 33 in the United Kingdom and The Ones You Love number 48. After this album Astley took a break from music for years, until his single Sleeping in 2001.
