Keep Moving
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
Keep Moving was released in February 1984 and was the last Madness album on Stiff. The band was already rehearsing for the record in February 1983, but the keyboardist Mike Barson, tired of the pressure of fame, spent that summer travelling around Europe in a camper van with his wife and dog. That held up the recording. In October he said he was quitting, and after a final performance at the end of 1983 he was gone. It was his last studio album with the group.
The title comes from the film The Bed Sitting Room, and the cover referred to the coming Olympic Games. Rolling Stone gave four out of five stars and praised the band's changing sound. Two singles reached the British top twenty. Wings of a Dove and The Sun and the Rain also belong to this period.
