Battle of Armagideon (Millionaire Liquidator)

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

Battle of Armagideon (Millionaire Liquidator) was released in 1986 on Trojan Records. Lee Scratch Perry made it with his backing group of the moment, the Upsetters. He produced it himself, together with Mark Downie, who also designed the cover. Perry sings and plays percussion and harmonica. We also hear guitars, keyboards, bass, drums, saxophone and trombone.

The record was reissued on CD in 1988 and again in 2001. Trouser Press heard a kind of return to his best form: a dense production that nevertheless sounds contemporary, with cryptic lyrics in a stream of consciousness. The Spin Alternative Record Guide called it his best album of the 1980s.
