Saturday Teenage Kick
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
Saturday Teenage Kick, from 1997, is the first studio album by the Dutch electronic musician Junkie XL, behind whom Tom Holkenborg is hiding. He produced, wrote, mixed and programmed the record himself and also played keyboards, bass and guitar. Guest guitarists are Rene van der Zee and Dino Cazares, and Baz Mattie plays drums.
Patrick Tilon sings on the album; he is also the rapper Rude Boy of Urban Dance Squad. The record has twelve tracks. The last, Future in Computer Hell, lasts almost eighteen minutes and in some editions hides an extra track, Mulu. Notable is an unusual aftermath: in 1998 several tracks appeared under other names on The Castbreeder, a fake album by The Prodigy.
