Seven Tears

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

Seven Tears is the seventh studio album by the Dutch rock band Golden Earring and was released in 1971 on Polydor. The record was not released in the United States. Fred Haayen produced the album, and Albert Kos and Pieter Nieboer recorded it. The four band members were helped by the saxophonist Bertus Borgers, who plays on two pieces. The singer Barry Hay also plays flute, while Rinus Gerritsen plays organ, piano and an ARP synthesizer as well as bass.

She Flies On Strange Wings was released from the record as a single. The band did not want to shorten the album version of just over seven minutes. They therefore cut the song in two at 4:31 and released it as Part 1 and Part 2, spread over the two sides of the single.
