Good Morning Susie Soho

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

Good Morning Susie Soho is a studio album by the Swedish Esbjörn Svensson Trio, released in September 2000. Esbjörn Svensson plays keyboards, Dan Berglund bass and Magnus Öström drums, gopichard, percussion and tabla. The trio wrote all the tracks themselves, except The Face of Love, which is by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, David Robbins and Tim Robbins. The album reached number 15 on the Swedish album chart.

The lengths vary widely: Serenity lasts under two minutes, The Wraith well over nine and Reminiscence of a Soul nearly twelve. The reception was glowing. Stuart Nicholson wrote in JazzTimes that the album was darkly lyrical and distinctly contemporary, and the magazine Jazzwise named it album of the year 2000.
