Kollaps

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

Kollaps is Einstürzende Neubauten's first official album, released in 1981 on the German label ZickZack. Blixa Bargeld, N.U. Unruh and F.M. Einheit play on it. The tracks combine raw punk with industrial sounds from home-built musical machines, electronics and found objects such as metal sheets. Jet'm is a cover of the song by Serge Gainsbourg, Je t'aime... moi non plus. Many CD versions add tracks, including a 1987 live recording of Negativ Nein, and the 2002 reissue also contains the Stahldubversions from 1982.

Trouser Press called Kollaps one of the most shocking visions ever committed to vinyl. The album is also included in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.
