Encore

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

Encore is the debut album by the French producer DJ Snake. It was released on 5 August 2016 on Interscope Records. DJ Snake recorded the record between 2015 and 2016 and was executive producer himself. He worked with Skrillex, Mike Dean, Andrew Watt and Louis Bell, among others. Many tracks feature a guest singer or rapper, including Justin Bieber, Travis Scott, Migos, Young Thug and Jeremih.

The music lies between EDM and trap. Five singles were released from the album: Middle, Propaganda, Talk, Let Me Love You and The Half. Encore entered at number 8 on the Billboard 200, DJ Snake's first top-ten album, and topped the American chart for dance and electronic albums. In the United States the record was certified platinum. Reviews were mixed to positive: Rolling Stone gave three out of five stars and felt that the guests were given too little room.
