The Swiss Army Romance

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

The Swiss Army Romance is the debut album by Dashboard Confessional, released in March 2000 on Fiddler Records and limited to a thousand copies. Shortly afterwards it was decided to sell the album to Drive-Thru Records, which reissued it on 14 November 2000. Chris Carrabba wrote all the songs, sang and played guitar. James Paul Wisner produced the record and played keyboards. John Ralston added guitar and backing vocals.

In 2003 the rights were sold to Carrabba and Vagrant Records, and the record was reissued with the bonus tracks Hold On and This Is a Forgery. The reasons were the band's growing popularity and the approaching album A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar. Rock Sound ranked the album number 100 in its list of 101 Modern Classics, and Loudwire included it in a list of the best emo albums.
