Falling Into You

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

Falling Into You was released on 11 March 1996, after The Colour of My Love and the French-language D'eux. Dion wanted to broaden her sound and worked with fourteen producers, including Jim Steinman and David Foster. The album features elaborate orchestral arrangements, African-tinged vocals and instruments such as violin, Spanish guitar and saxophone. Three songs are English adaptations of songs from D'eux.

The key songs are Because You Loved Me, written by Diane Warren for the film Up Close and Personal, and It's All Coming Back to Me Now, a power ballad by Steinman. All By Myself and River Deep, Mountain High also received a version of their own. The album received glowing reviews and won both Album of the Year and Best Pop Album at the 39th Grammy Awards. It became her best-selling record.
