Al verte las flores lloran
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
Al verte las flores lloran · This flamenco album from 1969 is a collaboration between the singer Camarón de la Isla and the guitarist Paco de Lucía. It is one of the first six albums they made together. Officially it was called El Camarón de la Isla con la colaboración especial de Paco de Lucía, but in practice the records were named after their first track, and that is how this one got its title.
The twelve tracks show how many styles exist within flamenco. The form is listed for each track: bulerías, tientos, seguiriyas, fandangos, tarantos, tangos, soleares and alegrías. Paco de Lucía plays guitar, and a second guitar comes from Ramón de Algeciras. The album opens with the bulerías Al verte las flores lloran and closes with the alegrías Barrio de Santa María.
