On a Spaceship
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
On a Spaceship is the second studio album by the Nigerian singer and songwriter Burna Boy. It was released on 16 November 2015 on Spaceship Records and Universal Music Group. He worked with many producers, including Spellz, Sarz, Orbeat and J Fem, and invited guests such as Wizkid, Wande Coal, Phyno, Flavour and AKA.
The singles Soke, Jealousy, Rizzla, Duro Ni Be and The Realest were released spread across 2015 and 2016. Soke was nominated for best Afrobeat video at the Nigerian Music Video Awards. The reception was mixed. Critics praised tracks such as Soke, Rizzla and If People Must Die, but found the album too long and too safe. They also missed producer LeriQ, who had worked on his earlier output. One reviewer saw the record as an answer to the industry, which had passed over his earlier work.
