Elva kvinnor i ett hus
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
Elva kvinnor i ett hus was released on 1 December 1975 on Cupol as Agnetha Fältskog's fifth studio album. It had already been planned before 1973, but her pregnancy and the success of ABBA caused delays. She made it in between busy promotion and, for the first time, produced a whole album herself. She wrote almost all the music herself, with lyrics by Bosse Carlgren. Their plan for twelve women in one house, with an elaborate sleeve, fell through when money and time ran out. At the record company's request, a Swedish version of S.O.S. opened the album.
The melodies are more complex and more pop and rock than on her earlier schlager albums. Carlgren's lyrics are little stories, ironic, full of humour and sometimes daring. Critics praised her singing and the higher production quality. The album stayed on the chart for 53 weeks and reached number 11.
