Stay on These Roads
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
Stay on These Roads came out on 3 May 1988 and is a-ha's third studio album. The producer was Alan Tarney. The record was made with a battery of synthesizers, including a Synclavier, a Prophet 5, a DX-7 and a Roland D-50, and with a drum machine. Morten Harket sings, Magne Furuholmen plays keyboards and Paul Waaktaar plays guitar.
The album was once again a major international hit and, like its two predecessors, reached number two in Britain. Six singles were released from it, including the title track, The Blood That Moves the Body, Touchy! and You Are the One. It also contains a new version of The Living Daylights, the theme song the band had made for a James Bond film. NME heard mainly wistfulness in Waaktaar's lyrics: they are about crying, leaving and longing.
