Frank Churchill
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Artist
Frank Churchill (1901–1942) played piano in cinemas and for the radio before he joined Disney in 1930. His song Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf from Three Little Pigs (1933) became a national hit. For Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937), Disney's first feature-length animated film, he wrote songs such as Heigh-Ho and Whistle While You Work with the lyricist Larry Morey. Those songs are not stand-alone numbers but drive the story forward, as later in the Broadway musical. For Dumbo (1941) he won an Oscar with Oliver Wallace. He was still working on Bambi (1942), but died that year.
