Clara Schumann

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Artist

Clara Schumann · Clara Wieck was trained as a piano virtuoso by her father and was already known throughout Europe as a teenager. In 1840 she married Robert Schumann against his will, and even as the mother of eight children she kept giving concerts. She was one of the first to play from memory and made known the music of Beethoven, her husband and later Brahms. Her Piano Trio in G minor from 1846 joins a classical form with Romantic warmth.

Listening
