Ice Queen
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Song
In January 2002, Ice Queen by Within Temptation from Waddinxveen became a big hit. This happened because fans massively requested the video on the music channel The Box. The band makes symphonic metal: heavy guitars combined with orchestral sounds and the clear voice of Sharon den Adel. Within Temptation became popular above all in Germany and beyond, and is among the most successful bands in the genre.
Listening
Listening tip. Hear the contrast between the heavy guitars and Sharon den Adel's light, almost classical singing voice.
