Right or Wrong

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

Right or Wrong was recorded on 28 October 1960 at the Bradley studio in Nashville and released in October 1961 on Capitol Records. Wanda Jackson, a country and rockabilly singer, sang the lead vocals and played guitar. Among the accompanists were Buck Owens, Roy Clark and Marvin Hughes. The sleeve promises six sugar-coated ballads and six songs with a big beat. Country songs thus sit alongside rockers, including Stupid Cupid and Brown Eyed Handsome Man by Chuck Berry.

The title song, written by Jackson herself, reached number 9 on the country chart and number 29 on the pop chart. Later CD editions include bonus tracks such as You Can't Have My Love and Let's Have a Party. AllMusic gave one of those reissues two and a half stars.
