Mr. Brightside

In June 2004 Hot Fuss was released, the debut album by The Killers from Las Vegas. They sounded British, with synthesizers and the energy of 1980s new wave. Mr. Brightside, about jealousy, became one of the best-known rock songs of the century. In England it stayed in the charts for years. Rock bands could still score worldwide hits, but there would be fewer and fewer of them.
