Beautiful World
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
Beautiful World was released on 27 November 2006 and was Take That's first studio album in eleven years. It was also the first record as a quartet, without Robbie Williams, who had left in 1995. During the Ultimate Tour the four thought about a new album. They agreed that everyone would co-write and co-produce, and John Shanks was brought in as producer. For the first time every member sang lead on at least one song. The title was chosen by Howard Donald.
Patience was the first single and went to number one in Britain. It won a BRIT Award for best British single in 2007. Shine also became a number one. I'd Wait for Life ended a run of six number one hits. The reviews were very positive: the album breathed gratitude, and the songs were varied and more thoughtful than earlier work. It topped the chart in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
