Tourism

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

Tourism was released on 28 August 1992 as Roxette's fourth studio album. It is often mistaken for a live album, but the group itself called it a tour record: the material was recorded in all kinds of places during the Join the Joyride! Tour. It contains three concert recordings, and Never Is a Long Time was recorded in an empty nightclub in São Paulo. Two songs were created in room 603 of the Alvear Palace Hotel in Buenos Aires.

The majority was made in Stockholm, and a new version of It Must Have Been Love, with pedal steel by Greg Leisz, at Ocean Way in Los Angeles. In the United States sales lagged far behind those of Joyride and reviews were mixed; in Europe it did become a success. AllMusic called it the best introduction to the group, with almost no filler.
