Abrazar la vida

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

Abrazar la vida was released on 28 October 2003 and is the fifth album by the singer Luis Fonsi. The record opens with ¿Quién Te Dijo Eso?, a plaintive love song in the torch song tradition. The title track follows, with a more R&B-like colour but still full of wistfulness. The album also contains more exuberant work: Yo Te Propongo is an almost dizzying dance number in which Latin horns wind their way through the music. On La Fuerza de Mi Corazón, Christina Valemi sings along.

AllMusic gave the album three and a half stars. According to that review, the singer feels most at home as a modern crooner, and with this fifth album he casts a satisfying pop shadow.

Listening

Listening tip. Listen to Yo Te Propongo and notice the Latin horns winding through the song, and the tempo, which is almost dizzying.
