Zinloos
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Song
On 5 October 2004 Zinloos by Lange Frans & Baas B was released, with the singer Ninthe on the chorus. The song protests against zinloos geweld (senseless violence), violence without any provocation, and names victims such as Meindert Tjoelker. It spent three weeks at number 1 in the Top 40. In this way Nederhop (Dutch hip hop) showed that rap could also deal with social subjects that touched the whole of the Netherlands.
Listening
Listening tip. Hear the contrast between the narrative raps in the verses and Ninthe's sung, sorrowful chorus.
