Dressed to Kill

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

Dressed to Kill is the third studio album by Kiss and was released on 19 March 1975. The financial worries of the label Casablanca did not allow for a professional producer, so label boss Neil Bogart and the band produced it themselves. The recording took ten days in February 1975, in Studio B of Electric Lady. Gene Simmons said that Ladies in Waiting was written in a single afternoon in the studio and quickly taught to the band.

At a little over thirty minutes, it is the band's shortest studio record. On the cover the band members wear suits, although only Peter Criss owned one himself. Rock and Roll All Nite, Rock Bottom, C'mon and Love Me and She remained staples of the concerts. The album reached number 32 in the American chart and went gold in 1977. The live version of Rock and Roll All Nite later that year reached number 12 as a single.
