Long Hard Climb
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
Long Hard Climb was released on 23 July 1973 on Capitol Records and is the fourth studio album by the Australian-American singer Helen Reddy. The producer was mainly Tom Catalano. The album consists mostly of songs aimed at the charts, but Reddy also ventured into New Orleans jazz in Lovin' You and into the English version of a new classic by Charles Aznavour, The Old Fashioned Way. It followed her 1972 album I Am Woman.
Delta Dawn was the first single. It spent twenty weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, one of them at number one. Leave Me Alone (Ruby Red Dress) followed in October and reached number three. The album itself rose to number eight in the United States and was certified gold in September 1973. In 2003 it appeared on CD for the first time, together with I Am Woman on a single disc.
