From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
Eight Miles High · This fifth studio album came out in 1969 on Polydor in Europe and on Atlantic in the United States. It was the first album under the name The Golden Earring, previously Golden Earrings, and the only one with the drummer Sieb Warner.
The record has only five pieces. Barry Hay sings tracks 1, 2 and 4, George Kooymans tracks 3 and 5. Hay also plays flute on Song of a Devil's Servant. Rinus Gerritsen plays bass, organ and piano. In the United States an edited version of Eight Miles High was released as a single, without the band's permission; in Europe no singles came from the album.
Listening
