Head Games
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
Head Games, released in September 1979 on Atlantic, is Foreigner's third studio album. It was recorded in New York and mixed in Los Angeles. It is the only album the band made with Roy Thomas Baker, known for the records of Queen. Bassist Rick Wills took the place of the dismissed Ed Gagliardi. It was also the last record with founders Ian McDonald and Al Greenwood and the last with vocals by guitarist Mick Jones, on The Modern Day.
The single Dirty White Boy preceded the album and reached number 12 on the American Hot 100. The album itself reached number 5 and went platinum within four months. The cover, with Lisanne Falk as the model, was criticised by feminists, while singer Lou Gramm said it was meant to be cute like a cartoon. Reviews were divided. Later Classic Rock called Rev on the Red Line an underrated track.
