Saturday Night Wrist
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
Saturday Night Wrist was released on 31 October 2006 on Maverick Records and was the result of more than two hard years. After the lukewarm reception of the 2003 album, the band had to write again, first in Sacramento and then in Malibu. Several producers came by: Dan the Automator, for a week, and then Bob Ezrin with Brian Virtue. Tensions rose and the singer Chino Moreno, who was struggling with addictions and a failing marriage, temporarily stepped out of the sessions. In early 2006 all the recorded vocals went into the bin and Shaun Lopez took over the production.
Annie Hardy of Giant Drag and Serj Tankian of System of a Down play on the album. Tankian also co-wrote Mein. Fans and critics responded positively, some finding it better than its predecessor. Moreno himself calls it his least favourite album by the band.
