Alotus
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
Alotus is the thirteenth album by the Finnish experimental rock band Circle. It was released on Klangbad, the label of Hans Joachim Irmler, one of the founders of the krautrock band Faust. Irmler is credited on the album as producer and co-arranger, and the album confirmed the bond between him and the group.
Four of the five tracks last well over ten minutes, only Northern Sky is shorter: a little over two and a half minutes. That last track also appeared on the compilation Klangbad First Steps. Singer Mika Rättö often wore a T-shirt with the cover of Faust's first album during performances.
Listening
Listening tip. Listen to Northern Sky, the short track between the long pieces, and compare it with the sprawling Alotus.
