Dansplaat

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Song

In May 2002 the Amsterdam rapper Brainpower released Dansplaat. The song spent four weeks at number 1 in the Top 40 and also topped the chart in Flanders. Brainpower was the first Dutch-language solo rapper to reach number 1 in both countries. In the lyrics he mentions all sorts of things from that time, from Wim Kok to Tekken 3. With this, Nederhop had truly become pop music.
