Ring Ring
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
Ring Ring is ABBA's debut and was released on 26 March 1973 in Scandinavia, still under the name Björn & Benny, Agnetha & Frida. The first recording, People Need Love, dates from the spring of 1972, when the four were still working on all kinds of other projects. Only after the title song became a hit did they decide to continue together permanently. Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus wrote almost all the songs and produced the record.
The original Swedish release opens with the Swedish version of Ring Ring. On the international releases the English version comes first. She's My Kind of Girl dates from 1969 and became a hit in Japan. Disillusion is the only song on one of the group's studio albums that Agnetha Fältskog co-wrote. The album reached the top ten in Sweden, Norway and Australia and was not released in England until 1992.
