Two Steps from Hell (Thomas Bergersen & Nick Phoenix)
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Artist
Two Steps from Hell (Thomas Bergersen & Nick Phoenix) · Two Steps from Hell was founded in Los Angeles in 2006 by the Norwegian Thomas Bergersen and the Englishman Nick Phoenix. It was not a band but a production company for trailer music: short, powerful pieces that film studios licensed for their trailers, including for Harry Potter, Star Trek and Pirates of the Caribbean. At first this music was intended only for the film industry. Because of public demand, the first public album, Invincible, with Heart of Courage, was released in 2010. Archangel followed in 2011. Their style, called epic music, consists of choir, big percussion, ostinatos in the strings and a climax that arrives quickly.
