Bestel mar
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Song
Rowwen Hèze came from the small Limburg village of America and sang in the dialect of North Limburg. Their music was a mixture of rock, polka, Tex-Mex and Irish folk, with an accordion. Bestel mar, from 1991, became a singalong at every party and festival in the south of the Netherlands. Like Normaal, they showed that music from the region could attract a large audience, far beyond their own area.
Listening
Listening tip. Bestel mar is a cheerful drinking song. Hear the accordion and the Limburg dialect.
