Rick Is 21
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
Rick Is 21 is Rick Nelson's sixth studio album and was released on 8 May 1961 on Imperial Records. It was the first record on which his first name is given as Rick; the earlier albums were released under the name Ricky Nelson.
The recording took place almost entirely at the famous United Western Recorders studios in Los Angeles, from February to April 1961. Only Do You Know What It Means to Miss New Orleans was recorded earlier, in February 1960 at Master Recorders in Hollywood. The repertoire consists of songs by, among others, Dorsey Burnette, Jerry Fuller, Gene Pitney, Johnny Rivers and Dave Burgess. Jimmie Haskell wrote the arrangements and Charles Bud Dant produced the record.
