Yes Indeed!

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Album

Ray Charles released Yes Indeed!! in 1958 on Atlantic. It was his fourth album and the second of three Atlantic LPs collecting Charles's hit singles for the label. He played piano and sang himself. The horn players included David Newman on saxophone and the trumpeters John Hunt and Marcus Belgrave.

The record contains fourteen tracks, and not a single one lasts longer than three minutes. The title track Yes Indeed!! was written by Sy Oliver, Lonely Avenue comes from Doc Pomus and most of the other songs were written by Charles himself. On a number of tracks The Raelettes and Mary Ann Fisher sing along, on others The Cookies. Marvin Israel designed the cover.
