The Kiss of Morning

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

The Kiss of Morning is the fourth solo album by Graham Coxon, guitarist of Blur. It was released on 21 October 2002 in the United Kingdom and was his first record since he had left Blur for the first time. The title stems from his changed outlook on life after he struggled with alcoholism and became sober. He wrote all the songs himself.

In its execution, too, it is a personal work. Coxon plays guitars, bass, drums, harmonica and percussion, sings, produced together with Mike Pelanconi and even painted the sleeve. Louis Vause adds piano, Fender Rhodes and Hammond, B.J. Cole pedal steel. The song All I Wanna Do Iz Listen to Yuz appeared in 2004 as the B-side of Bittersweet Bundle of Misery.
