Little Green Bag

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Song

In 1969 the George Baker Selection, from the Zaanstreek region, had a hit with Little Green Bag, which was also a hit in America in 1970. The singer Hans Bouwens performed as George Baker. The song begins with a famous bass line. In 1992 the director Quentin Tarantino used it in the film Reservoir Dogs, and so a new generation heard it. Dutch pop music crossed the border in those years mainly in English.

Listening

Listening tip. Listen to the bass line and the drums at the start: a few bars that later became famous in an American film.
