No Reason to Cry
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
No Reason to Cry is Eric Clapton's fourth solo album and was released on 27 August 1976 on RSO Records. It was recorded between December 1975 and May 1976 in Malibu and Los Angeles, with sessions in March 1976 at The Band's Shangri-la Studios. All five members of that group took part. Rick Danko sings All Our Past Times together with the guitarist; they wrote it together.
Bob Dylan appears as a duet partner in Sign Language, with a song that has not been released elsewhere. According to the booklet of a Dylan box set, he simply wandered around and stayed in a tent in the garden. Marcy Levy sings Innocent Times and shares the vocals in Hungry. Critics responded moderately. AllMusic called it ordinary pop and rock, with the finest music where guests join in. The album reached number 8 in the United Kingdom and number 15 in the United States.
