The Scientist
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Song
On 11 November 2002 The Scientist by Coldplay from London was released, from the album A Rush of Blood to the Head. It is a piano ballad: Chris Martin begins alone on piano and the band does not come in until after the first chorus. In the video everything runs backwards, and Martin learned to sing the lyrics backwards. Coldplay grew into one of the biggest stadium bands of the twenty-first century.
Listening
Listening tip. Hear the piano that carries the whole song. Only towards the end does the electric guitar come in.
