I Just Wasn’t Made for These Times

I Just Wasn’t Made for These Times · I Just Wasn't Made for These Times was Brian Wilson's second solo album and was released on 15 August 1995 on MCA Records. It is the soundtrack to a documentary of the same name by Don Was. Almost all the tracks are new recordings of old work by Wilson. The title comes from a song he wrote in 1966 with Tony Asher for The Beach Boys' Pet Sounds.

In 1995 Wilson said that at first he thought it would turn out contrived, because the songs had been heard so often. Then he understood the context and was able to speak freely, without worrying about what he said. He got the feeling that he mattered. The record includes Caroline, No, Love and Mercy and Do It Again, which he sings with his daughters Wendy and Carnie.
