Keep the Faith
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
Keep the Faith · After the tour for New Jersey the band took a break. Jon Bon Jovi wrote the music for Young Guns II, Richie Sambora made a solo record and the singer fired his manager in order to take more responsibility himself. In 1992 the group spent seven months working on the fifth album at Little Mountain Sound Studios in Vancouver, led by producer Bob Rock. Bruce Fairbairn, who had produced earlier records, was too busy with Aerosmith.
Of thirty songs written, fourteen made it onto the album. The music became more serious than before, and the band deliberately ignored what had changed in rock. Dry County and Bed of Roses grew out of a summer in which the singer rode anonymously through Arizona on his motorcycle. The album reached number five on the American chart and number one in Great Britain. It is also the last studio record with all five original members.
